Silk Road Sampler was awarded the prestigious Robert Kaufman Best Wall Quilt Award in the 2017 Paducah Quilt Week contest. With this award, Silk Road will be ending it's competition travels and become part of the permanent collection of The National Quilt Museum. It may be the end of the road for the quilt but quilt lovers can view it in its new home for many years to come.
I am honored to announce that at the 2017 AQS Daytona, Lancaster and Spring Paducah shows there will be a solo exhibit of my quilts. The exhibit will include my first quilt, prize winners now in private collections and some new quilts making their debut.
I just returned from Denver, CO where my work was featured on one of the episodes of The Quilt Show. The hosts, Alex Anderson and Ricky Tims, were delightful and true professionals. Stay tuned for airdate sometime in 2017.
Two of my quilts will be part of this summer's semi-annual exhibition of quilts at the American Swedish Institute in Minneapolis, MN. This exhibit features contemporary and traditional quilts and the evolving relationship between quilters, materials, techniques and textiles.
